Vietnam–Singapore Board Forum 2024: Leading for Tomorrow: Pioneering Green Business Solutions Engaging Senior Leaders
Since its first successful organization in 2021, the Vietnam – Singapore Board Forum (VSBF), organized by VIETSTAR Training and Consulting Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) and Singapore Management University (SMU), has been a pioneering forum in the region on sustainable development, and is held annually.
In the three years since VSBF has become a prestigious regional forum in which leaders from Viet Nam, Singapore and across the world share their experiences and initiatives in energy transition, green business building opportunities, integrating sustainability into the core of business strategies, best corporate governance practices, and accelerating the green transition through financing.
According to experts and leaders participating last year, VSBF has successfully completed its mission of promoting sustainable development and enabling companies to seize and apply pioneering solutions, thereby creating growth opportunities.
VSBF is not only highly appreciated in Viet Nam, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries, but has also expanded its influence beyond Asia with the participation of leaders from leading global organizations such as Temasek Holdings, Sembcorp Industries, General Electric – USA, UNOPS – United Nations, speakers from various government agencies, the World Economic Forum, major universities and other leading institutions across continents.
VSBF 2024 will be held in Hà Nội on May 24
Leading for Tomorrow
Following these successes, VSBF 2024 is set to organise a peer leadership forum with the theme “Leading for Tomorrow: Pioneering Green Business Solutions” on May 24 this year at the Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel.
According to experts, the Net-zero transition journey is an inevitable and irreversible trend to meet market requirements.
It will reshape the economy, opening new markets and imperiling others.
Over the past year the Government has actively implemented many solutions, focusing on perfecting mechanisms and policies – the first and most important step in implementing its Net-zero commitments.
It has issued Decree No. 06/2022/ND-CP on Mitigation of Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions and Protection of the Ozone Layer, Decision No. 01/2022/QD-TTg promulgating the list of sectors and establishments emitting greenhouse gases subject to greenhouse gas inventories, Decision No. 888/QD-TTg on approval for Scheme Setting Out Tasks and Solutions for Implementation of Outcomes of COP26, the action plan to reduce methane emissions by 2030, and others.
However, green transition and reducing greenhouse gas emissions for Net-zero commitment is a long road with many difficulties and challenges, requiring the hands and great effort from the business community.
In this context, this year’s forum will focus on the challenges and opportunities with respect to economic instability, climate change, energy transition, green businesses, green technologies, and green finance, and also be a forum for peer leaders to learn from each other and consider economic trends, business sustainability and environmental factors that impact strategic decisions.
“The Vietnam-Singapore Board Forum is not only a forum to share management and business solutions for growth and sustainable development, but also a place where two Southeast Asian cultures intersect; a destination of friendship where like-minded leaders create value, promote inclusive sustainable growth while sharing responsibility with the community and protecting the planet for a greener world!”- Ms. Mary Pham Thu Hang – VSBF Director & VIETSTAR CEO.
